Yes, in most cases, moving plumbing and drainage during your bathroom renovations are possible if you live in a house.
However, if you live in an apartment or unit, an onsite assessment by our professional bathroom designer is required to determine feasibility.
Waterproofing is essential anywhere water is present.
This includes bathrooms, laundries and W.C.’s (water closets). The extent of your waterproofing is generally determined by your configuration.
In some cases you can tile over tile IF the existing membrane is not disturbed,
Absolutely, you can!
Just keep a few key things in mind.
1 - Check that the existing tiles are in good condition and can handle the extra weight.
2 - Make sure that your cover plates on your taps will function with another layer of tiles. In some cases you can find new taps to suit however this can limit you with your tap selection.
3 - Check that your window frame lock will still be able to close.
4 - Check how this will look up against your cornices and architraves, we can usually remove cornices and re install on top, as well with architraves we can get custom ones made or block them out with timber.
Special preparation of the existing tiles is generally required however we can discuss these options with you.
In Australia, strict rules and regulations determine how switches and outlets can be positioned near water sources. All electrical work must be performed by a licensed electrician in compliance with the Australian/New Zealand Wiring Rules (AS/NZS 3000:2007). As part of your bathroom renovation process, we will look after all of this for you
Freestanding baths are the ultimate statement piece for any bathroom, instantly adding that wow factor. While they may cost a bit more and require additional plumbing to hide pipework, their luxurious appeal is undeniable. Keep in mind, they take up more space, and if you’re opting for a stone design, ensure your bathroom floor can handle the extra weight.
On the other hand, drop-in or hob-mounted baths offer a sleek, practical option. Designed to sit in a frame—either against a wall or as a centerpiece island—they need to be perfectly level for proper drainage and sturdy enough to hold the weight of water and a person.
With so many bath styles available, the key to finding your perfect match is to test it out!
Sit in the bath to check if the size and depth feel just right for your ultimate comfort. After all, your ideal bath should be as relaxing as it is stylish.
For ceilings we usually opt for a low sheen exterior grade paint, this way you know its durable, washable, and resistant to moisture, the difference is minuscule and most people usually don’t even notice the difference.
A mixer tap is a great addition to any bathroom renovation, combining hot and cold water before it reaches the spout. This allows you to easily adjust the water temperature as it flows, offering both convenience and style for your updated space.
Open showers are a stunning addition to any bathroom, featuring a sleek frameless glass divider that creates the illusion of a larger, more open space. Perfect for bathrooms of any size, they offer a modern touch and effortless accessibility. Plus, with fewer corners for grime to hide, cleaning becomes a breeze! However, because they’re so open, hot steam escapes easily, meaning good ventilation is essential to keep your bathroom fresh and fog-free.
On the other hand, framed showers are making a stylish comeback with trendy options like matte black finishes, giving them a modern edge. They’re also a much more budget-friendly option compared to frameless designs, perfect for those looking to save without sacrificing style.
Framed showers keep water spray contained, protecting your bathroom floor from puddles, but they do require more upkeep as dirt and mould can build up in those enclosed corners.
Generally framed shower screens are more robust than frameless and semi-frameless shower screens , making them a great option for families with children or pets. The frames also offer more stability, reducing the chance of glass breakage.
Ultimately, the choice between framed and frameless showers comes down to personal preference and the overall aesthetic you want to achieve in your bathroom renovation. If you prefer a sleek and modern look, then frameless showers may be the way to go. However, if you want a more traditional or budget-friendly option, then framed showers can provide both style and practicality.
Another popular option for shower screens is semi-frameless designs. These feature minimal framing around the edges of the glass panels, giving them a sleek and seamless appearance while still providing some structural support. This design offers the best of both worlds - a modern look with added stability.
Whether you're drawn to the elegance of open showers or the practicality of framed designs, there’s a solution to match your style and needs!
In-wall cisterns can completely elevate the look of your bathroom renovation. Their sleek, compact design creates a modern, streamlined feel while giving the illusion of extra space. Not only do they look great, but they’re also a more hygienic option. By hiding the cistern, you eliminate a common dust and bacteria hotspot, making cleaning quicker and easier. Plus, with push plates available in a range of finishes, it’s simple to match them with your tapware for a cohesive look.
That said, in-wall cisterns do come with some challenges. If an issue arises, accessing the cistern behind tiled walls can be tricky, often leading to higher repair costs. Additionally, in the event of water problems, the cistern can’t be manually refilled. Wall-mounted toilets paired with in-wall cisterns also require a specific toilet pan designed to support weight safely, and installation may involve extra labour costs.
If you're considering an in-wall cistern for your bathroom renovation project, be sure to weigh the pros and cons carefully. Done right, it can create a stunning, functional bathroom upgrade!
